DIMA (Dublin International Insurance & Management Association) is the industry representative body for international insurance and reinsurance companies, insurance and reinsurance captives, and captive management companies established in Ireland, who are predominantly based in Dublin.
DIMA was founded in 1990 following the formation of the first international re/insurance entity in Ireland the previous year. Since its inception, DIMA has expanded to represent all types of international insurance and reinsurance companies based in Ireland, and we currently comprise more than 60 member companies.
DIMA’s board of directors represents a cross-section of the different types of international re/insurance entities operating in Ireland, and its work is supported by a full-time Secretariat. DIMA board members are elected from senior representatives of member companies, and meet regularly throughout the year. The work of the DIMA board is assisted by sub-committees focussed on specific business sectors.
DIMA has been awarded the 2014 and 2013 UK Captive Services Award for Solvency II initiative of the year.
